1. Watch the Show Fountain
One of the first things you’ll notice when you walk into the main area of The Island in Pigeon Forge is the beautiful Show Fountain! This state-of-the art, multi-tiered fountain features dancing waters that are choreographed to 14 pieces of music. There are a variety of vertical and motion based nozzles designed to move in sync with the songs. You can even enjoy the show from one of the rocking chairs set up in front of the fountain.
2. Play Games in the Arcade
If you have any gamers in your family, they are going to love Arcade City! You’ll find activities for kids of all ages to enjoy, and some of the best prizes you’ve ever seen! Traditional games will let you gain points on a card to win prizes at the end of the night. Race against each other on racing games, and try your hand on claw machines. It’s easy to spend hours in this arcade trying all of the fun games and competing for high scores.
3. Try the Ropes Course
There are 2 different ropes courses at The Island for you and your family to choose from. The first one is called Sky Tykes and is perfect for adventurers less than 48 inches tall to challenge themselves; this course is a little closer to the ground. The second option is the 3-story Sky Trail Explorer course, complete with 30 different elements, 2 zip lines, and 1 simulated free fall. Anyone over 42 inches tall can enjoy the course, but if your child is under 48 inches, an adult will need a chaperone him or her.
4. Explore the Shops and Get Free Samples
The Island in Pigeon Forge is home to more than 60 retail and specialty shops and a ton of popular restaurants. As you’re browsing through the shops, you can even sample some of the tasty treats inside. If you stop by the Ole Smoky Moonshine Barn, you can even try their famous flavors in their tasting area for a small fee. The moonshine made there is also jarred, labeled, and sold onsite, so you can take home all of your favorites!
5. Ride the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel
The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is a 200-foot-tall Ferris wheel and one of the tallest attractions in the southeast! The all-glass gondolas provide an amazing opportunity to view the gorgeous Smokies, as well as downtown Pigeon Forge. You can take it all in and maybe even capture a few photos while you’re at the top!
